    our weekly goal

Last night I went to a Homeschool group meeting, my first one ever! I came home VERY encouraged! funny thing is, it wasn't so much about the education but that I met two mothers who seem to have the same heart of loving on others that I do!

With our homeschooling plan we have added some aspects that you do not usually see. We have a goal for each child for the week:

    • They need to love on a family member (make a snack, make their bed, make a card etc)
    • Love on a neighbor (love bomb their door- decorate the door and leave a special treat, make banana bread, invite someone for a meal or snack)
    • Love on a stranger (we have a backpack with mittens, hand lotions, kinder eggs, packs of gum and a baggie of loose change that we take with us, in the summer we have water and sunscreen)
Also we have decided to support a couple who spend their lives loving others and advocating for ones who cannot speak for themselves. We bring treats, check in and join them when we can. We know how easy it is to write a cheque to support a cause, but sometimes the support that is really needed is a helping hand or a listening ear.

That being said we have a request, there are two little ones in our family who are having birthdays next month. Every year we choose something to ask guests to bring, one year it was fresh groceries for a family in ministry, last year it was socks and this year we would like to ask our readers to donate toiletries to the local food bank in your town or to send old blankets and sheets to local dog shelter.  If you are in the Brampton area we have a little surprise we are planning so if your family would like to be a part of it (would be an hour) please contact me!
